The Google Developer News Show

Role: Video Editor

The Google Developer News Show is Google Developers' longest running series, released on a weekly cadence to inform devs on the latest developer news.

This series is released on a weekly schedule, so the project turnaround was extremely quick. Typically, the developer would be in studio to shoot on Tuesday, the first cut would be delivered on Wednesday, revisions (if needed) on a Thursday and it would be sent to the publishing team on Friday.

As the editor, I was responsible for picking the best takes, selecting the intro/outro "blooper" clips, creating various thumbnails for all social media platforms (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 5:4) and sourcing all the images seen on screen. Due to the tight schedule, The Dev Show was usually edited by the editor with little to no communication with the producer beyond an "LGTM" before being sent to publishing.
